Yummy! Happy to have a delicious Thai restaurant nearby. We went there for dinner and the service was great and the food was wonderful with enough left over for lunch the next day. The inside was nicer looking than I expected from looking at the outside and they were open until 9 on a Sunday!

The food was excellent. Ordered green curry and chicken. You can adjust the level of spice. The service was not very friendly though. The waitress seemed to be in a hurry - asking for desert before we had a chance to finish our entrée.

Ordered fried rice. Arrived so dry I could not eat it. I asked 4 times for some of the sauce like my wife had on her chili fish which was very good and waited over 5 minutes each time. 4th time asking and was told their would be an extra charge which I agreed to and 10 minutes later still no sauce. By this time everyone else was totally finished so I canceled the sauce and left without ever getting to eat. I have eaten there several times before and while the service is never very good, the food usually is. Staff always acts like they hate their jobs.

Quick service and kitchen, service is very friendly, and food is very tasty. I love that you can adjust spicy level. Portoion is not small either, and they have a very good system of packaging leftovers - probably because they also do take outs.

One of my favorite places to eat in Johnson City. Their Yellow Curry Chicken dish is AMAZING. Great food. Weird atmosphere, staff is friendly most of the time, but the food is fantastic.

So the food wasn't bad but not the best. Curry was ok, too much coconut milk and red green peppers which just made it too sweet.... What turned me off was my table still had sticky stuff on it and my glass had stuff stuck to it. The service was good and they cleaned and gave me a new glass w/o attitude, as they should. So that's good I guess but dont think I'll be going back, curry wasn't my type and the cleanliness wasn't up to standards.

Clean your window sills & you might get 5 stars. Interior ambiance was warm & inviting. Deep red colors all around, black touches & a simple yet authentic feeling abound. Service was friendly but not that quick. -Thai tea = $2.99 & includes a free refill. Nice! -Masaman curry chicken was very tasty, though a bit too liquid-y for my taste and didn't have enough chicken. -Sticky rice was SUPER sticky. It was almost like pure starch balls when I ate it later as leftovers. -Chicken pad Thai very good. -House soup & crispy wonton noodles are served with every lunch special and brought out automatically. -The soup was just broth. With a few itty bitty scallions. A few pieces of tofu would have been a nice touch. -Charging $2.50 for a seltzer "water" is a sin.

Not real impressed. Limited lunch menu. Uses tons of green/red peppers ...ugh !! Sure made me miss Thai places in Charlotte.

Thai food is tasty but too greasy for authentic thai food.

Excellent Thai food, especially the curry dishes, which is what I usually order. I have eaten take out (love the drive up window, nice touch) and dined in several times now in the past few months. Always fresh, fast and friendly service. Tomy Thai has become one of my go to restaurants when visiting and working in Johnson City. I wish we had Thai food this good in Charlotte where I live!

We ordered massaman and red curry - chicken for each - and loved them. My red curry had an awesome spice level (between mild/medium) and great flavor. They were happy to bring extra rice! And they have very generous portions for the price. I saw someone ordered the pad thai and it looked like they got about 4 lbs of it - all for under 11 bucks. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more. It's in an unassuming strip mall and the ambiance is alright - if not for that I would give them 5 stars!

Tomy Thai used to be in Kingsport and moved to Johnson City. The location is close to ETSU and the hospitals. Food is excellent, although it's one of those menus where you can adventure into the unknown and really hit a home run or totally swing and miss. We usually get the Chicken Satay appetizer which I could eat as a meal also, it's really good. As is one of the soups. Portions are big. I ordered takeout once and overdid it for just 2 of us...we had a bunch of leftovers! It's a one-room classy dining room with prompt service. You can order most dishes as hot/spicy as you like. Sometimes they are a little slow so it can be stressful to go on a limited lunch period or if you have somewhere to be after lunch.

The flexible lunch and dinner hours make it a great restaurant to visit any time with anyone - though Tomy Thai does not have a children's menu, there are options to have no spice added (for picky eaters) and simple meal choices like fried rice, soup, or salad. I arrived a little before noon and it wasn't too busy - there was enough seating to spread everyone out a bit. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but I didn't feel cramped. For beverages, I recommend the Thai Sweet Iced Tea; it's a tasty twist on the classic sweet tea. Before I even ordered my waitress brought a chicken broth soup with fried noodles; it was a flavorful snack to have before a meal. I ordered the Yellow Curry dish with brown rice, as I am not great with spicy food, and it was delicious. There was a mild spice and the mixture of curry, chicken, and pineapple was wonderful. I was a bit put off with jazz music playing in a Thai restaurant, but it was soothing and relaxing to listen to in the middle of a busy work-day. Tomy Thai is a great ethnic restaurant to unwind, whether for a quick lunch break or an appetizing dinner. Tomy Thai really has something for everyone!

Great take-out and love the pull up window. Also you can make many meals from leftovers

Service was barely adequate in that the waitress always seemed to be in a hurry to go do something else (she wasn't serving other customers in the dining area). Had Pad Thai which tasted as if were cooked with last weeks overused grease. A very bad nose to it. We have had decent food there in the past but will probably not return because of the off taste of my wife's Pad Thai. The Pho was OK. But not enough of a reason to return.
